Oh I see!! I don't think I've ever tried highlighting text on FF.net (not for a long time anyhow) as I rarely read more than drabbles on there. I much prefer reading or downloading on AO3.
It seems rather ridiculous to be doing that on a site where nobody owns their own copyright anyway because it's all someone else's IP! So why worry if anyone can copy and paste text???
