May. 25th, 2019 03:03 pmSadly, Judith Kerr died a couple of days ago. She wrote The Tiger Who Came for Tea and the Mog series - all books I read to my children when they were little. So while sad to hear of her passing, it did also bring back many fond memories of the happiness from reading those stories.
Here's me reading to my greyhound, Cody. He's less grey, more brindled orange, black and white. Walking him the other day a small boy pointed at him and in a confused voice asked his parents, "Tiger?"
Those books were also the inspiration for some of my Supernatural fanfic:
I have my own version of The Tiger Who Came for Tea where Sam reads it as a bedtime story to Lucifer, plus Mog was very much in mind when I wrote my Sam the Cat series.

Unlucky Thirteen
Jun. 3rd, 2018 10:17 amI've finally caught up and finished watching Season 13! Managed to avoid most spoilers; ironically got a few via a writing prompt!
I've got mixed feelings about this season - LOL, when don't we - feel like I need to re-watch - maybe I missed an episode, but when did you-know-who leave you-know-where?

- Dean becoming a caricature of himself

- Bringing back beloved characters only to squander them
- That last scene with the close up made me laugh.
Ah, the stress of arriving home much later than anticipated on scheduled posting day only to discover the story doesn't have any of the last minute editing changes I'd made before leaving for the weekend!
Still, even without being able to completely reproduce what it was before, I'm still pretty pleased with how my first Sam/Deam came out.

I was delighted with the art prompt I got, and I'm pleased with the story once it finally came together. It feels like I've been struggling to just sit down and write for months - I did really well just before Christmas, then seemed to struggle until the last couple of weeks (and with all the family birthdays that fall within it, February's not a great month for finding spare time). I had lots of ideas, but just couldn't seem to sit myself down to actually write them!
My official posting date was 3 March, which Facebook memories reminded me was two years and a day since Evie died, so given the dog theme it seemed fitting to use one of my favourite photos of her as the profile picture for the posting (and this one).
Here, Sam's turned into a dog, but I've also written him as a cat, and a moose!
