Ah, the stress of arriving home much later than anticipated on scheduled posting day only to discover the story doesn't have any of the last minute editing changes I'd made before leaving for the weekend!

Still, even without being able to completely reproduce what it was before, I'm still pretty pleased with how my first Sam/Deam came out.

Weird coincidence: the idea of offsetting the effect of the short-shorts with the black socks and dirty trainers was from a video of Jared Padalecki exercising using a giant tyre. I had a distinct memory of shaking my head at those socks! I've not looked at it since, but just searched for it on YouTube only to find it was uploaded by

amberdreams!

I've been so distracted this year, I thought I'd missed these - luckily author sign-ups are open for SPN Spring Fling until Friday 23 March, and Big Pretzel Spring Exchange until Friday 30 March - now I've just got to think of some prompts!

I was delighted with the art prompt I got, and I'm pleased with the story once it finally came together. It feels like I've been struggling to just sit down and write for months - I did really well just before Christmas, then seemed to struggle until the last couple of weeks (and with all the family birthdays that fall within it, February's not a great month for finding spare time). I had lots of ideas, but just couldn't seem to sit myself down to actually write them!

My official posting date was 3 March, which Facebook memories reminded me was two years and a day since Evie died, so given the dog theme it seemed fitting to use one of my favourite photos of her as the profile picture for the posting (and this one).

Here, Sam's turned into a dog, but I've also written him as a cat, and a moose!
