I freakin' hate FanFiction.net right now

I've just discovered that it auto-deletes the word/term "(dot)" including both words on either side of it, so where I had thought I'd circumvented it's ridiculous policy of blocking links, it's actually been rendering my comments meaningless.
Argghhhhhhhhhhh!
PS. It seems that {dot} is currently still acceptable, however I guess I should expect this to change suddenly, intermittently, and without prior warning.

Date: 2012-06-23 10:12 pm (UTC)Ironically considering where I'm posting this I've just never really got into the LiveJournal thing.
I've an AO3 account: http://archiveofourown.org/users/TheYmp ... but it's crappy on a mobile phone - on a good day it's just barely readable. FF at least manages that pretty well (albeit without italics), or at least it did until the neverending Captcha logins.
The sad thing is that I've had a hectic month and not done as much reading as I'd like, so my FF use has all been struggling around posting)
I know it's free and all, and I should just be grateful that it even exists, but it's just the "because we can" nature of some of the changes.
And now I'm just ranting...

Date: 2012-06-24 11:19 am (UTC)I'm way behind of my reading, I rarely get through each week's drabbles these days, and I'm trying to write a spn_gen big bang (my first as a writer) which is interesting!
I'm on AO3 http://archiveofourown.org/users/Amberdreams though I haven't posted all my fics on there yet and none of my drabbles. They've been having some issues lately too I saw, but I noticed yesterday that there is now a 'share' option so you can post on AO3 then automatically cross post to LJ. I've started cross posting from Dreamwidth to LJ after LJ had all the kerfuffle, just in case.

Date: 2012-06-24 07:35 pm (UTC)I worry that all of my FanFic's going to fizzle out [Cos that's be such a big literary loss, right? ;)] but life's too short for multiple posting! I like the crossposting thing though - I've also started to crosspost from Dreamwidth (http://theymp.dreamwidth.org)to LJ - mainly because I was fed up with LJ 'always' being down on the few occasions I thought I'd post something (although typically it now seems okay).
MeAzrael had one of her fics deleted from FF and I'm just really careful to keep backups of everything - but I have to say it's a real pain to publish all this stuff only to discover a couple of small typos and then go through them all to replace them.
